I thought my computer glitches were fixed sufficiently to continue blogging on the road, but as you can see from the gap in my posts, they weren’t. I’ll spare you the gory details of my laptop’s various ailments and instead post some photos from my trip…
Mountain lilac blooming near Bixby Bridge on Highway 1, Big Sur area

Starfish, mussels, anemones, and more on the rocks at Muir Beach
Sea lions in Monterey Bay
Horseback riding through coastal redwoods and along the beach at Big Sur, a day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and a chance to see the new “Wild About Otters” exhibit, a whale watching trip out from Monterey Bay (no whales this time), two excursions into and around San Francisco, and oodles of scenery and wildflowers – I’m ready to go back! Oh yeah, and I hit every yarn store on the Monterey Peninsula, too. I found some great “sea colors” yarns that I plan to use in a shawl of my own design. I’ll post more on that when I have something to show.
For now, I’m pretty much over the post-vacation let down and getting back into the swing of normal life. Grant writing, the novel, and various music projects all await renewed focus and attention…and I’m looking forward to a little hobby time with my new yarn as relief from the rigors of wrangling with the laptop to get it functional again.
